Little about us

We believe in the bond between people and nature.
We try our best to fulfill our duties as members of the planet and live a sustainable lifestyle in order to create a better future.
About Diversity Hadano project
Diversity Hadano started as a restoration project of an old abandoned folk house.
We did most of the renovating on our own with a lot of help from backpackers from all over the world.

WHAT THE DIVERSITY HADANO EXPERIENCE IS ABOUT
Experience the Japanese lifestyle
Looks like a movie set but feels like you’re at home.
Diversity Hadano is exactly the traditional Japanese style home you see in the movies.
We are located in a quiet environment. It is the best place to stay after busy sightseeing in bustling Tokyo.
Japanese good old wisdom and modern technology make eco-comfortable living possible. Breathable lime plaster walls and paper windows make Japanese humid summer drier. A thick traditional roof and edible green curtain block the heat from the sun.
In winter, you can get enough warmth from the sun in the living room and put your feet in “Hori Kotatsu” (a table with a heater covered by a blanket) in the dining room.

Responsable and sustainable living
Edible garden
Creating an edible garden allows you to reconsider the idea that fruits and vegetables are things you must buy from a grocery store.
Every plant in the garden plays a role in producing seasonal food.
Birds sing, bees buzz, butterflies fly and lizards play. All of this is possible only because of our no-chemical, no-spray approach to gardening.

There is so much to see and do!
Hot springs, temples, beaches, mountains, and lakes….
5 minutes on foot to Mt. Kobo : Only a short walk from Diversity Hadano, you can spend a few hours hiking in peaceful Kobo Mountain. Enjoy a beautiful sunset featuring Mount Fuji from the top, and you may even catch a glimpse of Japanese monkeys!
